Amber Lee Ettinger (Obama Girl) and her song "I got a crush on Obama (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKsoXHYICqU)" were all over the national news on Thursday, firing up debates among Democrats and Republicans alike.
Let's start by saying that Amber Lee Ettinger is just an actress; the real Obama Girl, the one who came up with the idea of the video, the song and the lyrics is Leah Kauffman, a 21-year-old undergraduate at Temple University in Philadelphia.
The Obama campaign spokesperson said its team had nothing to do with the video; however the true question is whether or not Obama Barack benefited from it.
The video is fun, sexy enough to draw young males' attention and the song is certainly catchy and targeted to the younger audience, the 18-25 years old segment of the population.
I'm far from being a political analyst but it’s a no brainer to say that Obama has drawn a lot of attention on himself and his campaign with this innocent gig.
The best aspect is that the song draws public awareness to Obama through a positive message and conveys that he is a loved, believable and appealing candidate.
I can see other presidential campaigns coordinators biting their fingernails in envy; it doesn't really matter if they Obama boys are involved or not, this gig scored big time among young voters.
Americans are growing tired of personal attacks and negative messages; at a time when voters’ faith in politics is at its lowest a fresh, positive message turns into a white horse for Obama to ride.
Then again these are just my two cents on this story, which in my opinion has just started and won't easily fade away. Thanks for casting your vote in our poll (http://www.theonlinewire.com/articleView.aspx?ID=2918) on Obama Girl's "I got a crush on Obama".
