Match 4
Taylor Vs Baxter
Taylor finally looks like he is beginning to recapture some of his best form and you can bet he will peak round about the 'World Championships' Mathmatically Taylor can still be caught for 1st place in the group but realistically that isnt going to happen. Taylor warmed up for this match with an 104 average in his 5-1 beating of Colin Lloyd and anything close to that tonight will be enough to see off Ronnie Baxter with ease tonight.
I like Ronnie Baxter, but dont like him over a very short format, he often takes a while to get into his stride and thats no good in a best of 9 legs match. That said, in his last match he stormed into an early 2-0 lead before losing 5 from 6 to go down 5-3 with an average on 91, he will certainly need an average nearer than than his opening match 82 if he is to push Taylor close.
Their isn't huge value in this match but i ask myself, do i think Baxter will win 3 legs or more??? The answer is probably 'no' so with that in mind Taylor -2.5 on the handicap gets a tentative nod.
