3rd seed Gary Anderson was expected to top this group but despite a 91+ average against Kevin Painter he was drubbed 5-1, he bounced straight back with a 5-1 victory over Wayne Jones and now finds himself in a 'straight shootout' with Barrie Bates to possibly set up a mouth watering last 16 clash with Roland Scholten.
Barrie Bates must improve his scoring if he is to beat Gary Anderson, 2 matches in and although he has 1 good victory under his belt a 3dart average of around 82 isn't going to put Anderson under much pressure.
Gary Anderson should have more than enough to see off Barrie Bates in this match, His heavy scoring should see him get a shot at a double in most legs and and provided he hits his doubles could win this game with some easy, again, i cant see Bates taking 3 legs here so Anderson -2.5 on the handicap looks like a good bet.
