Blake’s and Russell’s meetings are 3-1 for Russell. Three matches few years ago and their recent meeting at US-Open for Blake in straight sets even two of them were tiebreaks. Blake had then a tight schedule and he said after the match that playing against Russell was more harder than the result told. Russell is one of the only americans who can return the ball well and his style seems to work extremely well against Blake who tries to end balls fastly. Russell who has also decent serve had some bad results by that time and had some minorinjuries. I think he is now in better condition. This is one of those matches where one player is shooting the ball and other is trying to get it back just one more time to make his opponent to do the error and maby getting inside his head when the game goes on. Blake had easy win over Massu who apparently wasn’t 100% fit so can’t be sure how good he is now. Blake himself seemed to be confident. Russell had tight and long match against Fognini. I think his tiredness isn’t a factor yet and a previous tight match might be only good for him.
