Much the same reasoning as in Lapentti’s bet. Hard to say how Fognini rates this tournament but he is much more clayplayer than hardcourtsplayer. Started his season retiring his match against Coelho because sore throat and at US Open a tight match against Russell. Chela hasn’t been yet so great, hard win against King-Turner and losses against Mayer and Garcia-Lopez. Chela’s motivation towards Vina del Mar looks clearer. 1-4 record, win against Marin and losses for Puerta, Portas, Vicente and Sachez-Munoz.
