Gold Coast Titans http://www.betshoot.com/images/vs.gif Cronulla Sharks
The undefeated Sharks come to the Gold Coast to play the Titans tonight and this is the match of Saturday Night by a long way.
The Titans lost last week but i was still impressed with their defensive effort in that game and they really made the Dragons look very average in attack for large parts of that game due to their defence, it was going catch up with them and it did but with the amount of tackling they did it was'nt to much of a surprise really that the Dragons won well in the end,but I would think that the Titans themselves would of thought after that game that they lost but the end score was'nt a true reflction of the game itself and they would be right in thinking that way.
The Sharks well what can you say about them? Is this the year that they actuallly are going to show us something? I 'll side with them and say that yes this could be their year to step up to where they should be,last year they lost so many close games it was so unfair and this season they seem to of found the remedy for that problem and have now beaten both grand finalists from last season in Manly and the Storm and they have beaten both of them away which is even more impressive, they have lost Ross for 7 weeks and that is a loss for them but their overall structure has been very good and I don't think his abscence will be as much as a factor as many might think, they still have Gallen and Bird on the field and Kimmorley in at half back with Seymour as first reciever and those players imparticular have been outstanding, but the real thing about this Sharks outfit is their defence,a few seasons ago Ricky Sturat changed the game with a fast moving defesive line at the Roosters and he has brought that same attitude to this Sharks club and they are reveling in it,they look composed in defence and attack and look like one of the teams to beat this season to date.
These sides played twice last season with either team winning at home, the Sharks won in Cronulla 28 -12 and in Rd 2 the Titans won 18-16 in a game where the Sharks could of won but ike they did all last year they failed to get over the line at the death,so far this season the Sharks have overturned both results that they lost in close games against what I would perceive as better sides that the Titans and should really win this game this week with the Titans backing up from Monday Nights game which was a real slugfest and could see the Titans a bit slugglish this week.
I though that the Sharks last week and the week before have really come to terms with what Sturat has been trying ot do in defence and that should see them continuie on this week, the Titans had a very tough game last week and I think it will show this weekend, the Sharks have already shown that they are very commited in defence and that should see them home, the Titans at home are a far different proposition but I just can't go past the effort the Sharks have shown in two games this season, they have held two very aggressive sides in the Storm and Manly and went on to win both games, the Titans are'nt as aggressive as those two sides and could find out today why this Sharks side should be feared this season...Sharks win for me but ytake the 2 if you can get it to be safe...Good Luck.
