Tour de Suisse 2008 - Stage 7 – Cycling
Flat stage with 171km and a probable sprint finish, unless sprinters teams don't want to catch the escape of the day that will happend for sure. I think they will catch the escape because there are many teams with sprinters here.
Robbie McEwen demonstrated twice in this race that he's the strongest sprinter of the peloton present in Suisse. The two times the peloton finished compact McEwen won (3º and 4º stages), in the first stage a group of 50 (McEwen wasn't there) finished and Freire won. In the two McEwen's victories the podium was the same, Freire 2º and the young German sprinter Ciolek 3º. McEwen was performing bad this season with just one win at Romandie and a zero wins Giro, he arrived at Szwiterland and won in the two opportunities he had, the help of his team forming a train helped a lot, McEwen is a sprinter that comes out of nowhere without team support and wins but here is team is being fundamental. I believe that story will repeat and Silence-Lotto wil form a train with Leif Hoste (great in flat) and Avermaet (young sprinter that will be the last to launch Robbie). McEwen is the favorite besides some bookies have Freire and the odd is big as it's costume to fall to around 2.75 when a sprinter wins twice. The odd for the winning team (Silence-Lotto) is bigger than Robbie McEwen win in other bookies so...
