http://www.betshoot.com/avatars/noavatar.jpg Let's see what we have here.
Hosts are 21st team in league with 24 teams. Fifth in their division with six teams, below them is only Khimik, currently worst team in whole league. Team has two wins from five games, only one in regular time (Amur, 4:0). But you all know how hard is for Amur to take points away, especially as far as in St. Petersburg (eight hours time difference, almost on the other side of the world). Except that one win against Amur, SKA had though SO win against Traktor. They equalised in last period and then hold onto draw. Except this results, they've lost to Salavat (not a big deal), Magnitogorsk (judging by Magnitka performances so far, they should do better) and MVD (nothing special really)... So, SKA performances so far are plain bad.
Guests, on the other side, have really unexpected results. Currently they are 5th in whole league, 3rd in their division with Salavat and Atlant, good result, especially if you know that they would be topping two of the remaining three divisions. Truth is - they didn't had tough schedule, but their results are still better then expected. They opened season with bad home draw with outsiders Minsk. But since then they've won Minsk, Riga and Severstal. And so far Severstal and Riga look like teams of SKA quality, in fact, they look better... Novokuzneck team lost to Dynamo Moscow, but Moscow team might be involved in title fight so it's not shame to lose against them. Another loss was against Lokomotiv Yaroslav, team that plays one of the best hockey in league, team that lost only against Salavat, winning all other games. Novokuzneck didn't lose any of their games with difference higher then two goals.
With all this in mind i can't help but ask, where is the logic here? Currently Novokuzneck plays on their peak, best hockey that they can. SKA is totally down, they didn't put one good performance so far. And most of all, look at their goal difference 11-11. They are not efficient, they have problems scoring and they amend that problem with tight defense. Novokuzneck is most efficient team in league, they are scoring 4,50 goals average, 27 so far, seven more then 2nd most efficient Torpedo. Their defense is average, 16 conceded goals, but that's still low number if you keep on mind that they score 4,50 average. SKA shouldn't win against them with more then two goals, in fact i wouldn't be surprised if SKA doesn't win against them at all. Currently they just aren't top team, this odds are set by names of the teams, not their current form and performances. I see great value here...
